National Surveyors Week – March 16-22, 2014

National Surveyor WeekTexas and National Surveyors Week has been officially proclaimed by Governor Rick Perry from March 16-22, 2014 and encourages all Texans to recognize the dedicated service of the outstanding professionals and the importance of their work.

Governor Perry states that “Surveyors have long played a vital role in the growth and development of our nation.  These dedicated professionals greatly aided early expansion, when the promise of land ownership encouraged pioneers to travel great lengths to settle and stake their claims. Today Surveyors continue to make invaluable contributions to the infrastructure and economy of the Lone Star State.  Surveyors have many responsibilities, such as gathering data to establish land ownership and advising on infrastructure and geographic information systems development.  These industrious professionals maintain the expertise essential to meet emerging needs and technological advancements”.
